New fixing cone from MacGregor

MacGregor has added a new design of automatic fixing cone (AFC) to its range of OSHA-compliant container securing systems. Designed for on-deck use, the new cone is claimed to overcome the limitations of the popular AFC-1 model.

First introduced by MacGregor in 1993, the AFC-1 is a simple top use device but does not allow insertion of a lashing rod into one of the bottom or top corner castings. All 20ft ISO-gap locking devices, including the AFC-1, lock the corner castings in the longitudinal direction, but at the ends of the deck stow they occupy the container sockets which could otherwise be used by lashing rods.
