As anticipated in the March 2004 issue of WorldCargo News (p10), P&O Ports (P&OP) has secured the rights to become an investor in Bengal Port Ltd. (BPL), which has signed development and concession agreements for a port and special economic zone to be built at Kulpi, 45 miles downriver from Kolkata in India.
