US ports breathe sigh of relief as tariff exemption saves US$ 130m
NewsUS ports welcomed a crucial tariff exemption, saving them over US$ 130 million in unexpected costs on Chinese-made cranes.
Georgia Ports Authority (GPA), USA has exercised an option for two more 65LT-61m (22-wide) superpost-Panamax container cranes from Konecranes for the Port of Savannah. The original order for two cranes was placed in September 2001 and they were delivered last year (for full specs see WorldCargo News July 2002, p19).
