Maersk launching a new service to support the Tanzania cashew trade, while keeping busy with naming new methanol-powered ships and opening fulfilment facilities.

Tanzania has launched operations on its first Standard Gauge Railway section, connecting Dar es Salaam and Dodoma, offering faster freight and passenger services.

AIPH has signed a 30-year deal with the Tanzania Ports Authority to manage Dar es Salaam’s Container Terminal 2, which handled 820,000 TEU in 2023.

The Government of Tanzania has announced that 39 new locomotives and 800 freight wagons will be acquired for the redeveloped Central Line linking the town of Kigoma on Lake Tanganyika and Dar es Salaam, via the nation’s capital Dodoma.
