HPH denies curb in China ports

The Hutchison Whampoa group, parent of Hutchison Port Holdings (HPH), has denied a report in the Far Eastern Economic Review that China is trying to limit HPH’s role in developing ports in the country.

Quoting Cai Guan, editor of a monthly magazine published by the state-run China Ports Association, the report said the Ministry of Communications had instructed local authorities in several coastal cities to limit HPH’s role in container ports.
