The Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) has issued certificates of approval for tank containers made of polymer composite materials (PCM), intended for the transport of aggressive media. The manufacturers of the tank containers are the joint stock companies UralVagonZavod and Uralcryomash. The structure was designed by ApATeCh-Dubna, and the tank containers will be deployed by Spectransgarant LLC.

While the Russian oil tank car fleet has expanded strongly in recent years, and now stands at 165,000 units, it is estimated that a further 100,000 rail tank cars are required to help carry the country’s surging oil exports.
