The governments of Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) have agreed to build a joint container processing centre at Luau, beside the Benguela Railway, on their common border. The DRC government hopes to attract investment for upgrading the ageing extension of the Benguela Line into its territory, where it has historically been used to carry copper and other mining industry commodities from Katanga to the Angolan port of Lobito.
