Impsa backs out of JNP crane deal

Crane maker Impsa (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd wants to renegotiate a contract signed last year to deliver three post-Panamax (18-wide) quay cranes to India’s staterun Jawaharlal Nehru Port (JNP) in Mumbai.

As reported in the March 2007 issue of WorldCargo News ( p2), the cranes, ordered under a Rs1.05B (US$26M) contract, were to be delivered by the end of this month, before the start of Mumbai’s rainy season.
