SCP to expand Leatherman Terminal as it sets sights on 10m TEU

South Carolina Ports announces the reopening of Leatherman terminal.

The MSC Michigan VII was released from detention and authorised to depart the Port of Charleston after 48 days.

Port says it is “quickly working ships and reducing its vessel queue” by pausing work at Wando Welch; “planned reopening” of the Leatherman Terminal should also ease congestion.

SC Ports and ILA agree to fully restore operations at the Leatherman marine terminal, which has been largely idle since its opening in 2021 due to a prolonged employment dispute.

RoadOne is investing in a new distribution and transload facility in Summerville, with phase one opening in January 2025 and phase two in January 2027.
