SAAM Terminals joins forces with Next Port AI
SAAM Terminals is partnering with Next Port AI to deploy a DigitalTwin and AI platform in two pilot projects.
Chilean port service operator SAAM Terminals has entered into a global collaboration agreement with Next Port AI, the technology subsidiary of Moffatt & Nichol.
The partnership aims to implement the company’s new platform that combines DigitalTwin and Artificial Intelligence technologies, creating a digital replica of the port’s physical assets, processes, and systems from real-time data collected via sensors and other IoT (Internet of Things) technologies to analyse, predict, and optimise the port’s performance.
SAAM said that the solution will be implemented in two pilots to enhance operational excellence and optimise its Terminal Operating System (TOS).
By integrating a sophisticated data platform, NextPort AI will connect the TOS and other critical systems, adhering to industry standards such as DCSA and TIC4.0, to support decision-making and exception handling in the terminals’ control rooms.
This integration aims to maximise asset performance and streamline centralised planning.
The CEO of SAAM Terminals, Mauricio Carrasco, said the implementation of “state-of-the-art digital technologies in our terminals marks a significant milestone in the evolution of our organisation. Carrasco added that the alliance will connect, transform and enable the use of data to drive data intelligence in the operating systems of the company’s terminals.
