The first 10 of 20 Kalmar hybrid straddle carriers have arrived at Terminal Cuenca del Plata, as part of a US$500m expansion to triple its capacity by 2026.

Kalmar announced on social media that the first 10 of 20 hybrid straddle carriers for Terminal Cuenca del Plata SA are en route to the Port of Montevideo.

Terminal Cuenca del Plata SA (TCP), which is the main container handling facility in the port of Montevideo, Uruguay, is buying 20 hybrid straddle carriers from Kalmar. The new machines are scheduled for delivery during Q3 2024.

The company has partnered with NxtPort to roll out a Certified Pick-up tool for truck drivers at its terminal in the Port of Antwerp

The S&P deal follows reports in July that five shareholders of Mexico Natie were looking to sell their shares
