Eurogate Technical Services GmbH has installed Konecranes’ Agilon warehouse solution for handling and managing spare parts.
Agilon is an automated materials management system that optimises warehouse storage and retrieval. It has widespread industrial applications, including at facilities that do not use Konecranes lifting equipment, plus consumer applications such as grocery pickups.
Eurogate is the first German port to implement Aglion, where it has installed a system at Bremerhaven. “The order and delivery included interconnected Agilon system units with two robots and two user access points. The system will be integrated into EUROGATE’s SAP system. The delivery and installation took place in September 2022 with a full-service agreement included for the system and technical support that provides predictive maintenance and 24/7 remote customer service,” Konecranes stated.
“One of our targets for the investment was to improve work safety. Having now all vehicle spare parts and maintenance tools in one place removes the traffic between two floors. Additionally, we save space on the workshop floor for other purposes. Agilon standardises pickup times and keeps spare parts protected from light and dust, too,” said Bjørn Erdmann, Head of logistics, EUROGATE Technical Services GmbH.
“Agilon is a proven solution for managing large spare part warehouse operations in several industries. Konecranes is one of the world’s leading material handling equipment manufacturers and service providers for terminal operators, and Agilon is a natural extension to our offering for our ports solutions business,” added Vesa Hämetvaara, Director of the Agilon business.
