The Escravos Channel in the Niger Delta is being dredged to improve access to Nigeria’s eastern ports of Burutu, Forcados, Koko, Sapele and Warri. Despite having both the highest population and largest economy in Africa, Nigeria has struggled to grow its port capacity in line with demand.
