Streamlines has introduced a new weekly service, “Blue Stream,” linking the Caribbean and Central America with Northern Europe on a weekly basis

Streamlines, part of the niche Caribbean operator SeaTrade group, has a strong focus on perishable cargo, and has launched this new service as part of its development plan.

The new Blue Stream service commence in January from North Europe and the rotation is Rotterdam-Tilbury-Rouen (Radicatel)-Fort de France-Pointe à Pitre-Philipsburg-Moin-Puerto Cortes-Santo Tomas de Castilla-Rotterdam-Tilbury.

Blue Stream is the only direct service between Central America and the UK and transit between Central America and Europe is just 14 days. Transit time between Rouen and the three French West Indies' ports is just 10 days (Fort de France), 11 days (Pointe à Pitre) and 12 days (Philipsburg).

Transhipment between Central America and Florida will be three days. Subject to pending US regulatory approvals, currently under process, StreamLines will call directly at Port Canaveral, providing a transit time of 14 days between Florida and Tilbury.

Rotterdam will be used as a trnashipment hub for Saint Petersburg, other destinations in the Baltic and Scandinavian ports.

Five 1300 TEU vessels, including 250 reefer slots, are deployed in the service. The vessels are geared, with two 45t cranes.
