Wout Janssens to be CEO of Jumbo; Eimskip reorganises domestic operations; Freese leaves CEVA; new commissioner for Port of New Orleans; new COO for DSV
Michael Kahn is to step down as CEO of Jumbo Shipping after 30 years in post and will join the Supervisory Board. He will be replaced as CEO by the current COO, Wout Janssens. His position as COO will be taken by Jan Peter Breedeveld.
Guömundur Nikulasson is stepping as EVP, Iceland Domestic Operations is stepping down for health reasons and will be replaced as interim EVP by Böövar Örn Kristinsson (left). At the same time, Eimskip is reorganising the domestic set-up and domestic terminal operations is being transferred to the overall operations led by COO Hilmar Petur Valgarosson. Kristinsson is currently senior manager of Iceland Land Transport.
CEVA Logistics, part of CMA CGM, is looking for a new CCO following Jochen Freese’s decision to leave the company after less than one year in post. No reasons have been given for his departure. Freese joined CEVA logistics from Hellmann Worldwide Logistics were was COO for seven years and before that he was at UTI as CEO, Europe and North Africa.
Singapore: John-Kaare Aune has been appointed Chief Executive Officer at Wallem Group after a successful term as Interim CEO. Having joined Wallem in 2019 as Managing Director, Shipmanagement, he took over as Group CEO on an interim basis in January 2021 following the resignation of Frank Coles. His appointment as permanent CEO took effect on 1 October.
London, UK: Karen Davis from US-based global oil and gas company ConocoPhillips will succeed Rob Drysdale as Managing Director of the Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF). She will join the organisation on a three-year secondment from December 2021. A former mariner, who worked up from Third Mate to Master aboard supertankers carrying crude oil and clean products with ARCO Marine and ConocoPhillips Polar Tankers, Davis stepped ashore in 2001 and joined ConocoPhillips’ shore-based operations team holding several positions including Operations Compliance Director, Marine Superintendent and Director of Operations before becoming Manager, Global Marine Assurance.
Baton Rouge, LA, USA:The governor of the US state of Louisiana John Bel Edwards has appointed James J Carter to the Board of Commissioners of the port of New Orleans. He succeeds Tara Hernandez, who has served her five year term. The Board of Commissioners also covers the New Orleans Public Belt Railroad. A practicing lawyer, Carter is managing partner of the Cochran Firm-Trials & Mass Torts and has been admitted to practice in all Louisiana state courts and Louisiana US District courts, the US fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and the US Supreme Court. Earlier this year he was inducted into the Litigation Council of America, an elite body whose members account for less than 0.5% of all lawyers, judges and legal scholars in North America.
At the same time as it published very positive Q3 trading results, DSV announced that CFO Jens Lunde will switch management positions and will in the future be COO. Michael Ebbe will be the new CFO, stepping up from group deputy CFO. The Board now comprises Jens Björn Andersen as CEO, Lunde and Ebbe.
Hödlmayr group has promoted Liudmyla Tarasenko and Georg Schiefer to joint managing directors of Hödlmayr Rail Logistics. They take over from Andreas Sundl, who joined the Board of Hödlmayr Automobile Division earlier this year.
