Abu Dhabi Terminals (ADT), which operates container handling facilities in Khalifa port in the UAE, is to invest US$450M in extending the terminal’s wharf by 865m, adding storage and buying 10 new super post-Panamax STS cranes. Effectively, throughput capacity will double from 2.5M TEU a year to 5M TEU when the work is completed in late-2020.
