Pedro Pablo Jurado, director of Cormagdalena, the regional autonomous corporation of Colombia’s Magdalena River, has said that he will not pay Jan de Nul Group “a single peso” for what his organisation regards as the failure of the company’s subsidiary, European Dredging Company Colombia Branch, to properly implement an emergency US$2M dredging programme to restore full navigability in the access channel to the Port of Barranquilla.
