Australian Amalgamated Terminals (AAT) unveils a new asset intended for its Fisherman Islands facility.

PwC Australia, the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Port of Brisbane have collaborated to develop a new Trade Community System (TCS) that will function as a free to access portal bringing together existing data on container shipments.

In an interview with the Australian Logistics Council, Roy Cummins, CEO of the Port of Brisbane, said the port is at risk for becoming a future bottleneck for trade unless it reduces its “overreliance” on road transport.

The Liberal/National Australian Government is pressing ahead with the Moorebank Intermodal Terminal in south-western Sydney, controversially promoted by its Labor predecessor in competition with an adjoining private sector proposal by Chris Corrigan’s Qube.

Record prices achieved in 2013 for the sales of long-term leases of Port Botany/Port Kembla and a major share in the port of Brisbane (see below) have prompted an acceleration of efforts to monetise other governmentowned ports.
