A wide array of fiscal incentives and grants aimed at improving air quality lie behind the surge in interest in the USA in alternatives to diesel fuels, even though EGR + DPF (or, less likely in the US, SCR), will be required with ULSD for off-road diesel engines next year under Tier 4 interim emissions regulations.
