Increasingly stringent safety, health and environmental legislation continues to drive up costs for operators of tank container repair and cleaning depots
After five years of difficult trading conditions, it is now an accepted fact of life that all sectors of the tank container industry are engaged in an ongoing struggle to make ends meet. Yet few sectors are faced with margins as tight as those in the tank service community. Adequate returns for tank repair and cleaning are budgeted on processing large numbers of units and, when the numbers falter, hopes of securing a positive result, however meagre, disappear.
