Rail automation live in Australia
NewsQube commenced “normal automated operations” at the import/export terminal (IMEX) of the new Moorebank rail facility near Sydney in May and June this year.
Over the past 20 years and more, the focus of attention in container handling has tended to be on sophisticated solutions in a drive to reduce overall unit costs.
This approach requires large volumes and high initial investment and is aimed at container handling in depots and terminals, where the core business activity is moving containers between trucks, stacks, rail and ships.
