Vuossari finally takes shape

After almost 20 years of discussions, planning and environmental settlements, Helsinki’s new Vuossari port is finally starting to take shape and commissioning is set for December 2008. The project is the most ambitious port project undertaken in Europe, not in terms of size, capacity or quay wall length, but in the concept of transferring a capital city’s entire cargo port facilities to a “greenfield” site.
