Linde Materials Handling (Kion Group) has announced an investment of £16M in its big truck production centre in Merthyr Tydfil, UK. The investment will be focused on the development of new trucks, extending the infrastructure needed to produce them, modernising plant machinery and staff training.
“Our mid-term goal is to become the worldwide number two [ie after Kalmar] in the container truck business,” said Gordon Riske, CEO of Linde Material Handling and COO of Kion Group. “Merthyr Tydfil will be the key to achieving this goal and we are commmitted to the long-term growth of the plant. By combining the highly skilled workforce there with significant financial investment, I am sure that Linde Heavy Truck Division will go from strength to strength.”
