Fewer terminals are taking the decision to invest in twin hoist container cranes for tandem 40ft operations than in previous years. As of February this year ZPMC had delivered 283 twin hoist container cranes, 31 to the port of Singapore alone. They are most common at “typical” RTG terminals in Asia, although in many instances the second hoist might actually be little used.
