Dutch Logistic Development (DLD), a spin-off of MARIN in Wageningen, and the Mercurius Scheepvaart Group in Zwijndrecht are working on a project called Barge Truck aimed at bringing intermodal barge transport to smaller (class 1, 2 and 3) canals. The project is sponsored to the tune of €0.375M by SenterNovem, a division of the Dutch Ministry for Economic affairs.
