As anticipated in the September 2006 issue of WorldCargo News (p1), the European Commission has confirmed that standard 45ft containers will continue to be allowed to operate on European roads after a 10 year derogation in Directive 96/53/EC on road vehicle dimensions expires at the end of this year.
