While it is implementing ZES software at its Liverpool terminal (see Page 27), Peel Ports Mersey has developed an in-house TOS called TERMINUS for its Manchester ship canal facilities as part of its strategy to “employ cutting edge IT and operating systems across the Port of Liverpool and the Manchester Ship Canal”.

In 2007, Peel Ports launched a regular shuttle barge service moving containers between the international container terminal at Liverpool and the Irlam Container Terminal in Greater Manchester. TERMINUS will be installed first at Irlam and Peel Ports expects the system “will deliver a significant improvement to the systems messaging at Irlam, providing complete visibility, box status and interface with customers.”
