Angolan ports recovering
As Angola approaches the fifth anniversary of the end of its 27-year long civil war, there are signs that its international trade is beginning to pick up. The war resulted in a collapse in exports and little investment in the country’s ports, but imports and exports are now rising. Luanda Commercial Port (LCP), which manages the port of Luanda, has announced that overall throughput increased by 33% in 2006 to 5 mt.
