FRANC Elbe River barge

The prototype of a new container push barge design, designated FRANC and built by Tritonwerft for Deutsche Binnenreederei AG (DBR), has been demonstrated at the German inland Port of Magdeburg (Saxony-Anhalt).

The barge has been optimised for conditions on the Elbe. It features a special steel construction and length and beam that result in higher container capacity than existing barges on the river.
