In line with its recently announced business plan (see WorldCargo News June 2003, p18), Italian rail operator Ferrovie Nord Milano Esercizio (FNME), owned 57 percent by Regione Lombardia (Lombardy regional government), has separated its freight and passenger divisions into distinct companies.
