The US Department of Transportation (DOT) is requesting proposals for “innovative approaches to ending traffic tie-ups at some of the nation’s most congested border crossings.” Cross border trade between Canada, Mexico and the US has been badly impacted by the raft of new security measures incorporated into the Automated Customs Environment (ACE) that US Customs first began developing in 2001.
