Brazil’s newest container terminal, the Reais500M (US$315M) deepwater Porto Itapoá facility, finally opened for business last month with the night-time arrival of the 3,739 TEU Hamburg Süd vessel CAP SAN LORENZO, which is operated by Hamburg Süd affiliate Aliança and is deployed in its cabotage/feeder service connecting Manaus to Rio Grande do Sul, Montevideo and Buenos Aires.
