Following the successful trial run of a container block train from Beijing to Hamburg in January this year, as a collaborative project of the Chinese, Mongolian, Russian, Polish and German railways (see WorldCargo News January 2008, p17), DB Schenker is to start a regular weekly service next January. Each train will have a capacity for 120 TEU.
