Ethiopia signs transit deal with Berbera

The governments of Ethiopia and Somaliland have entered into an agreement that will result in some of the former country’s imports and exports being routed through the port of Berbera. Currently, most of Ethiopia’s maritime trade is processed over Djibouti, but congestion has resulted in serious delays and much higher shipment costs.
