A new Italian domestic ro-ro service has been set up between the Port of Augusta, in the south east of Sicily, and the north Adriatic Port of Ravenna. Departures will be every four days in each direction, says Italnoli Ships Agent Augusta.The line has been launched by BMMS Motorway Mediterranean Sea.

A chartered vessel, the 193m LOA MAERSK VOYAGER (formerly UND KAREDENIZ that operated for Und Ro-Ro between Turkey and Trieste) is deployed in the service.The ship has a capacity for approximately 185 unaccompanied trailers and accommodation for up to 12 drivers. Complete vehicles and containers will be accepted, as well as dangerous goods and oversized project cargoes.
