Cote d’Ivoire-based La Société Internationale de Transport Africain par Rail (SITARAIL), which operates the 1,260 km rail link between the port city of Abidjan and Ouagadougou in landlocked Burkina Faso, has started work on rehabilitating the network. The €400M multiyear project will also result in a substantial increase in the line’s freight carrying capacity.
