Semi-trailers boost Euro combi

While TOFC in the US is declining, in Europe semi-trailers are described as “the engine of growth” by the International Union for Road-Rail Combined Transport (UIRR). In its latest annual report (2016-17), UIRR noted that semi-trailer shipments increased by 32.4% and by 18% in domestic and cross-border combined transport, respectively, or by 20.2% in total.
