Gichner acquires CMCI

Gichner Systems Group Inc, a leading supplier of tactical military shelters to the US Armed Forces, has acquired Sea Containers’ US container manufacturing arm, Charleston Marine Containers Inc (CMCI). Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Sea Containers said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission earlier this year that it was marketing CMCI to several prospective buyers as part of its bankruptcy reorganisation plan. The sale of Yorkshire Marine Containers Ltd (YMCL), the company’s UK manufacturing subsidiary, is also reported to be close.
