Verdi, ZDS reach agreement after five rounds of negotiations
NewsThe German union Verdi and ZDS reached a new labour agreement for 11,500 North Sea port workers, pending a member vote.
Ailing Windhoff AG in Rheine, known for its special purpose vehicles for railway maintenance including Cargo-Sprinter MPVs, has been taken over by Georgsmarienhutte Holding (GMH Holding) in Hamburg. Windhoff went into receivership last year and was given a temporary reprieve by the administrator pending a possible sale (WorldCargo News, January 2002, p13).
