Maersk/ Concor win JNP

Maersk India and Container Corporation of India (Concor) have won the bid to develop a new container terminal at Jawaharlal Nehru Port (JNP) near Mumbai.

Four other bidders – CMA/ CGM, Marubeni-Evergreen, PSA Corp and United Liner Agencies/ HHLA – passed the JNP Trust’s technical evaluation (see WorldCargo News January 2004, p6), but the Maersk/Concor consortium made the best financial offer – a revenue share of 35.503 percent, which was nearly 4 percent more than the closest offer of 31.888 percent by United Liner Agencies/HHLA.
