Maine Secure Composites LLC (MSC), a recently formed business spin-off of the University of Maine’s Advanced Engineered Wood Composites (AEWC) Center, has been awarded a Department of Homeland Security Advanced Research Program Agency (HSARPA) contract to develop a next-generation “smart” container that can detect intrusions and prevent terrorists from placing bombs in containers coming into the US.
