Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) is to open its new dedicated container terminal in the Port of Valencia by the start of next month, after reaching a labour agreement with dockers’ company Sevasa. A breakdown in talks, which started last July, had delayed the start of operations at the terminal by over a month.
Xavier Boluda, MSC’s terminal manager at Valencia, said, “We will start operations during this month after testing equipment. The labour agreement has now been signed. Discrepancies over tasks of different stevedores have been solved and dockers have agreed to increase productivity.”
