New Deltaport berth delayed 12 months

Construction of a third berth at Deltaport, the largest container terminal in the Port of Vancouver, BC, has been delayed for a year because of a lengthy environmental approval process. Vancouver Port Authority (VPA) spokesperson Anne McMullin said the new berth is now expected to open in January 2009. Once completed the C$280M project will increase annual capacity at Deltaport by 0.4M TEU to 1.3M TEU.
