Trans-Sahara highway push

Following bilateral talks with Algeria, Nigerian Commerce Minister Idris Waziri has said that work on the Trans-Sahara Highway (TSH) will be stepped up. The TSH will enable land-locked states of West Africa to transfer trade from west to North African ports, cutting transit times to Europe by up to 75 percent. It comprises a central surfaced road between Nigeria and Algeria, with branch links to Chad, Mali and Tunisia.
