Saigon relocations approved

The Vietnamese Ministry of Transport has begun approving new locations for many of Ho Chi Minh City’s 30 ports, most of which must move from current locations on rivers in the Saigon Area by 2010. Three new sites have been approved: the Soai Rap River in the Hiep Phuoc district of HCMC and the Cai Mep and Thi Vai rivers in neighbouring Ba Ria-Vung Tau province.
