Northport Malaysia (NMB), formed from the merger of the former KCT and KPM terminals at Port Klang, has announced that its third container terminal (CT3) “will..be handled by private contractors under the direction of NMB management.”

Two Port Klang-based companies, IT Portlink Sdn Bhd and Malbatra Container Yard Sdn Bhd, have already been selected to provide prime mover services. Initially, one will operate at Berth 12 and the other at Berth 13. Each is contracted to provide 10 prime movers (five per quay crane) and must support productivity of 30 moves per crane hour.
