Hamburg-based container lessor Capital Lease has launched an initiative to form a new container industry association aimed at providing a platform for all container owners to debate matters of mutual interest.

To be known as the Container Owners Association (COA), an initial meeting of potential members is planned for the end of March. It is understood that representatives of all the world’s leading shipping lines, together with senior management from major leasing companies, have been invited to attend the inaugural meeting.
