US ports breathe sigh of relief as tariff exemption saves US$ 130m
NewsUS ports welcomed a crucial tariff exemption, saving them over US$ 130 million in unexpected costs on Chinese-made cranes.
The Port of Wilmington, NC, is to purchase four post-Panamax (18-wide) container cranes from ZPMC, under a contract approved by the NC State Ports Authority Board of Directors. The contract is valued at US$33.2 mill and the cranes are slated for delivery in early 2007.
