CSX Intermodal has made an important inroad into the Port of Virginia, securing Maersk Line’s contract as its rail provider at the APMT Virginia Terminal, which is now operated by Virginia International Terminals. The contract with Maersk Line covers other East Coast terminals as well, but the most significant boost to CSX will be in Virginia, which has traditionally been dominated by Norfolk Southern.
