Ro-ro operators in the Far East were hard hit last year because of the fall in shipments of new vehicles, the main ro-ro cargo carried in the region. According to Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM)’s annual review the number of vehicle units carried by PCCs or PCTCs fell 3.7 percent to 8.41 mill CEU. It forecast a further drop of 0.6 percent this year.
